Description

Bellaghy Bawn represents one of the defining periods in the history of the island - the Plantation of Ulster - and dates from 1622 when the village of Bellaghy became one of the first planned settlements in Ireland. The Bawn interprets the history, environment and literature of the area and in particular the poetry of Nobel Laureate, Seamus Heaney who was born nearby.
