Kayaking: Using either inland lochs or sheltered parts of the sea we run sessions adapted to those taking part. Depending on the weather it can be a trip along some of our incredible coastline, exploring cliffs stacks and caves, Or a skills training course following the BCU 1-3 star scheme, Or a games session which develops skills and confidence (and normally involves getting wet!). More often than not our instructors combine all of these approaches within a session. Whitewaves' policy in order of priority is safety followed by enjoyment. John is a BCU level 3 (sea) coach (formally known as a senior instructor) and has been kayaking for over 25 years, and teaching for 10. Any staff employed are BCU qualified and experienced. Windsurfing: The right kit and the right instruction goes a long way in preventing the frustration experienced by many first timers. We use a dry land simulator and a small loch to help get you going, and we provide full wet-suits, so its not that cold! It is however definitely wet, and equally exhilarating. Please note Whitewave only caters for beginners windsurfing. Hillwalking: The Trotternish ridge provides some of the most spectacular fell walking in Britain with its rounded moorland hills carved by a huge craggy cliff with its towering pinnacles and circling ravens.
