The following information was provided by DJs and entertainers who have recently worked at Bedford Swan Hotel:

The Swan is a 4-star Georgian building in a stunning location overlooking the River Ouse - and is therefore popular for special events.

Architecturally stunning with original stonework and woodwork features. Two areas are available for hire - on the ground floor function room with dining room and on the first floor the State Room.

According to the hotel The State Room caters for smaller groups however 80-100 people is not uncommon. During the evening the town bridge embankment is lit in blue which results in an amazing view from this upstairs room. The room has two lovely big wooden fireplaces and most of the walls are mirrored giving the illusion of space.

The hotel can provide chair covers and sashes, food, buffet and a wedding planner if required. Overall a lovely venue for a very special celebration or event.

However on the downside, car parking is a chargeable extra even if you are resident at the hotel. Drinks are very expensive (even by hotel standards) and many of the staff are very young and inexperienced belying the 4-star rating of the venue.
