The hotel is in a nice location and the staff are friendly but we did have a few irritating issues. Firstly we had a lot of guests staying at the hotel and it seemed they had the most confusing booking system - so much so they didn't undestand it themselves! The room bookings were all confused, they didn't know how many were booked and how many were left! Our guests had to quote our reference and pay for the room up front. Yet when it came to checking out some guests were asked for payment, including us! Turns out they'd taken payment for some but not others. Some guests left having paid nothing because they were told it had already been taken!

The event hall was OK, but we asked to turn the lights down to make it look more like a disco, but were told that wasn't possible for security and health & safety reasons. It was lit up light daylight in there! Also, they wouldn't allow outside catering so we were restricted to using theirs. The 'after party' for residents in our group was a little slow due to the night porter/barman spending more time outside smoking than the guests waiting at the bar for service. I don't begrudge the man a cig break but don't offer us bar service if you're not gonna be there! It's a shame there wasn't a pub nearer - I'm sure they'd have been more than happy to serve us and get paid.
All said, I would use them again, but I'd speak to them first to see if some of these issues could be resolved.
